A Carmel Valley man suffered fatal burns Jan. 9 when flames spread through his condominium.

The blaze in the 3500 block of Caminito El Rincon erupted for unknown reasons shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took crews about 10 minutes to subdue the flames, SDFRD Capt. Joe Amador said.
