Canyon Crest Academy tent sale deemed a success

More than $2,700 was raised for student scholarships through Canyon Crest Academy’s MEGA Used Media and Book Tent Sale on March 5.

This was the first event of its kind held at CCA and the proceeds went to Dollars for Scholars, a scholarship fund for CCA seniors who plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, vocational or technical school.

“No other activity can benefit our student’s educations more than regularly reading for pleasure,” CCA English teacher Craig Fox said. “Your kind book donations strengthen our class libraries and help teachers empower kids by providing them with great books which are at their level and in their interest.”

Books were also donated to “Words Alive,” a San Diego nonprofit reading advocacy program that inspires a commitment to reading through shared reading experiences for children, youth and adults.
