Coaches Marc Muchnick, Rob Rose, and Denis Sweeney have a lot to be proud of when reflecting over the season. Back in August, the coaches and players came together for the first time to compete at the Club level. This new team of multi-talented Carmel Valley/Del Mar boys – many of whom had only played rec soccer up until this fall – not only won their league, they went undefeated their very first season at play.

According to Coach Muchnick, “These boys did a remarkable job working together as a team. Their passing and ball handling skills have really improved throughout the season, and their drive to be the best team on the field is impressive.” Coach Rose added, “Our team’s solid defense only allowed five goals the entire season, and the offense scored a whopping 67 goals in just twelve games… These boys proved that hard work and commitment to the game produces positive results.” Because most of these boys came from the recreation league, CV Manchester Coach Sweeney said the Club wasn’t sure at first where to place this new group of players. Coach Sweeney went on to say, “Now that they’ve won their league, the team has earned promotion and the right to move to a higher bracket next year.”
