Church hosts spring lectures

David Moseley, a parishioner at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Del Mar, will lead a series of five forums on the Gospel of Mark. Some questions to be addressed include: Why do Jesus’ closest followers never figure out who he really is? Why is the Gospel obsessed with suffering and persecution? And, who was the Gospel written for, and what was the nature of their faith?

The Gospel of Mark forums will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., over coffee and doughnuts in the Parish Hall, on April 25 and May 2, 9 and 30.

Moseley, “a witty and engaging religious studies teacher by day,” was a success with his January forums on “Jesus’ Life and Times.” Those forums are available on the SermonPlayer at

The church is at 334 14th St., Del Mar. For more information, call (858) 755-1616.
