The De Anza Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will present a lineage workshop for prospective members and others researching supplemental DAR ancestors.
The workshop will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 31 in the Del Mar library’s Community Room, 1309 Camino del Mar.
Topics to be covered in the workshop: DAR membership qualifications, what it takes to establish lineage, research strategies, how to fill in and submit an application for membership, and how to fill in and submit applications for “supplemental” ancestors.
The mission of the De Anza Chapter “is to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence, to promote knowledge of American history, to conduct genealogical research and to cherish, maintain and perpetuate American freedom, liberty and patriotism.”
Membership in the De Anza Chapter, NSDAR, is open to those women over the age of 18 who descend from someone who served in the American Revolution or gave service to the cause of the American Revolution.
