The Del Mar Foundation recently approved a grant of $5,760 to Del Mar Community Connections to partially fund the Tuesday Lunch Connection Program. This program is in its second year of operation, having first been funded by the San Diego Foundation.

The Tuesday Lunch Connection reaches out to Del Mar residents who may have difficulty leaving the house and brings them to the Del Mar Community Building for a catered lunch and a special educational or entertainment activity twice a month.

Participants can engage with others and experience a wide range of presentations while enjoying lunch at no cost.

The Del Mar Foundation and Del Mar Community Connections share office and event space in the Del Mar Community Building, 225 9th St.. To learn more about the program, call Jenelle Zingg, program director at Del Mar Community Connections, at 858-792-7565.

The Del Mar Foundation sponsors programs, makes grants, and manages more than $2 million in endowment funds to benefit the greater Del Mar community.
