Burglary suspect arrested in Del Mar Heights

A homeowner in Del Mar Heights chased off four burglars early Oct. 7 and jotted down a license plate number that led police to one suspect — a 17-year-old boy.

Four people broke into the home in the 2500 block of Lozana Road near Boquita Drive and took electronics before being run off by the resident shortly after 2:30 a.m., San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

The homeowner relayed the getaway vehicle’s license plate number to police, who tracked it to an address on Mount Ada Street near Cannington Drive in the Clairemont neighborhood, Cali said.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at that address in connection with the burglary, but three other suspects remained at large late this morning, Cali said.
