Del Mar Kids marks its 10th year with a party!

San Diego sisters Staci and Amy Wax had something to celebrate when they opened their store for a party with shoppers, friends and family members July 15. What began as a dream in July of 2000, has blossomed into 10 years of retail success selling children’s fashions to moms and kids looking for “fun, funky, contemporary” garments and footwear.

Del Mar Kids & The Back Room at 2683 Via de La Valle has grown up with its clients, adding teen and women’s sizes in response to shoppers’ requests.

Staci, now a mom of three and resident of Carmel Valley, said the key to their success is bringing the latest looks to town for their customers. Sis Amy, who is getting married on Aug. 15, added that cool clothes, “plus customers who leave feeling good about their purchases,” keep shoppers coming back.

In kids’ wear lines, the store carries Flowers by Zoe, Joes Jeans, Juicy Couture, Slendid, and Gypsy 05 among others.
