Del Mar Mesa Community Planning Board brief; March 12 meeting
The Del Mar Mesa Community Planning Board continued to discuss the non-compliance to fencing guidelines of some Pardee Homes in Alta Del Mar, an enclave of estate homes and custom homesites southeast of Carmel Country Rd.
“Pardee’s justification for the non-compliant fences is that the homeowners are already in their homes, and non-compliant fences are surrounded by landscaping,” board chair Gary Levitt said.
Levitt complained that the “cheaper” fences were built behind landscaping, but still don’t meet the Specific Plan requirements and are not the fences Pardee promised.
“We want compliance with the Del Mar Mesa Specific Plan, in which Fencing Guidelines specify fencing should not be solid,” Chair Gary Levitt reiterated. The city’s condition of approval for Pardee’s Alta Del Mar was that fencing not be solid, Levitt emphasized.
