Del Mar reduces parking fees to encourage shopping

Each year at this time Del Mar reduces the parking meter fees as part of the city’s effort to encourage more shoppers to visit the Village area.

This lower parking rate became effective on Monday, Oct. 5, for the meters under the Inn L’Auberge on 15th Street.

The meters are user friendly, and show the time purchased on a clear digital display. They accept quarters that are available from a convenient change machine. The meters are enforced every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. parking is free.

The Inn parking garage entrance is on 15th Street one block west of the corner of Camino Del Mar. It is close to the Plaza shopping area, the Post Office and it’s within walking distance to Seagrove Park, the Powerhouse Community Center and the beach.

The City offers one year permits to park in the L’Auberge lot and pre-paid permits for use throughout the City. Call (858) 755-9354 for more information about the permits or visit www.delmar.ca.us.

The City has also made a seasonal adjustment to the parking meters and machines on Coast Boulevard and the 17th Street public lot. In these areas, the fees have dropped from $3.00 per hour to $2.00 per hour. Unlike the meters under L’Auberge on 15th Street, parking at these meters is not enforced after 8 p.m.

Parking at City Hall is always free.
