Del Mar resident Sheryl White appointed to San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture
Mayor Jerry Sanders recently announced the appointment of Del Mar resident Sheryl White as the newest commissioner to serve on the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture. In addition, Vicki Reed will take over as chair following the term of Colette Carson Royston.
“We welcome Sheryl and Vicki to their new posts while thanking and acknowledging the leadership, wisdom and enthusiasm that Ms. Royston provided during her tenure,” said Sanders.
White has found time during an extensive banking career to volunteer in service to the arts in San Diego. She currently sits on the Commission’s Advocacy Advisory Committee. She and her husband Harvey have been active with The Old Globe Theatre for decades along with many other arts organizations in town including the San Diego Opera and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, to name a few. White earned her master’s of science in executive leadership at the University of San Diego in May of this year.
The mission of the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture is to vitalize the city by integrating arts and culture into community life while supporting the region’s cultural assets and showcasing San Diego as an international cultural destination.
