Del Mar Schools Education Foundation receives check from parents

A check for $85,000 was recently presented to the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation by parents of Del Mar Heights at the school’s Winterfest.

The funds were raised at a unique fundraiser held Nov. 5 at the home of Darrin and Heather Hegemier. The event, “Jazzed About Our Kids,” featured musical jazz group Fattburger was the evening’s featured entertainment with emcee NBC anchor Susan Taylor. Money raised at the event will go to the DMSEF to help fund the Extended Studies Curriculum (ESC) programs in the areas of science, technology, art, physical education and music. Photo/Karen Billing
