The Del Mar Union School District is again without a superintendent of business services. The district hired Scott Mann on Sept. 1 to fill the role vacated by Dena Whittington, but Mann has resigned after just two months.
“I’m not exactly sure why, he didn’t feel it was a good fit,” said district superintendent James Peabody. “We’re going to look for somebody who fits the (district staff) team and move forward. I’m really happy with the team right now and we just need the one last piece.”
Peabody said they have placed an advertisement for the position with EdJoin, an online database for educational job opportunities. They will gauge the responses for the first couple of weeks and possibly place an additional ad in the California Association of
School Business Officials publication. There is no timeline right now for finding Mann’s replacement, Peabody said.
“We will keep it open until we find the right person,” Peabody said.
