Disney ‘World of Color’ coming to San Diego
A version of the recently opened Disney California Adventure show “World of Color” will be projected onto the USS Midway Museum at Navy Pier July 22-25 and shown online.
In each of the four cities of the World of Color Road Show, specially produced animation will be projected onto a familiar landmark, using a mixture of special effects, high-tech projections and a storytelling theme presented in “World of Color”
The theme of the San Diego stop will be “Water,” illustrated by scenes from such Disney films “The Little Mermaid” and “Finding Nemo,” Disneyland Resort officials announced Thursday.
Online voting will be held each night of the tour for one of three colors representing each of the Three Good Fairies from “Sleeping Beauty,” Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. The color with the most votes will be featured in the show’s opening moment, complete with a trail of pixie dust.
The winning fairy will fly from computer screens to the landmark location and will conjure the magical transformation of the landmark using the chosen color — red, green or blue.
The live online presentation will repeated continuously from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. each day in English at WorldofColorRoadShow.com and in Spanish at
.
The tour’s other stops will be in San Francisco Wednesday and next Thursday, Sacramento July 15-18 and Los Angeles July 29-30.
