North County residents Paul Ecke and Ken Wood have been appointed to serve on the Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas Community Advisory Board. As ambassadors of Scripps Encinitas, they will raise awareness about the philanthropic needs of the nonprofit hospital and promote its innovative patient care services and programs.

Paul Ecke III is the third generation of the Ecke family to support Scripps Encinitas, both as a volunteer and philanthropist. In addition to joining the hospital’s community advisory board, Ecke and his family recently made a generous gift to The Campaign for Scripps Encinitas, to benefit the historic expansion of its critical care services.

Ken Wood is an attorney and has served as corporate counsel with San Diego-based Rohr Industries. He has been in private practice in Rancho Santa Fe since 1974. Wood has served as president of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Club and Santa Fe Irrigation District; committee member of the Rancho Santa Fe Association, the Rancho Santa Fe Senior Center, the Community Center Village Presbyterian Church and Rancho Riding Club; and board member and secretary of the Horizon Church in Rancho Santa Fe.
