Education columnist wins national writing award

Education columnist Marsha Sutton won first place in the “Opinion” writing division of a national journalism competition recently for her column titled “Cheating Scandal at Canyon Crest exposes districtwide problem.” The column was published in the Carmel Valley News and Rancho Santa Fe Review last year. The award was announced at the 2010 Association of Free Community Papers awards ceremony held in Tucson, Arizona last month. This is the second national journalism award Sutton has won for the Canyon Crest column recently. Sutton has also won numerous other local, regional and national journalism awards in recent years.
