Educational therapist to talk about dyslexia, auditory processing at Carmel Valley Library
Maria Bagby, founder and executive director of the Therapeutic Literacy Center, will speak about dyslexia and auditory processing Feb. 25 at the Carmel Valley Library. With more than 27 years of experience as a reading specialist and educational therapist, Bagby will help participants learn a new approach that helps their children and themselves deal more effectively and efficiently with dyslexia and attention challenges. She will also present information about auditory and cognitive processes, and how they relate to attention. Discussion and simulations related to the cognitive processes necessary for success in school and building self esteem are planned. Bagby will also address concerns with focused attention and strengthening processing skills to find success in reading and writing.
