Efforts continue on Torrington problems
The speeding and school traffic issues on Torrington Street for Torrey Pines High School and Del Mar Pines School parents and students was supposed to be discussed at the March 10 Carmel Valley Community Planning Board meeting.
But Del Mar Pines parent Dana Fuderich requested the item be taken off the action agenda for March, as she said a solution to the street problems is coming along.
She said Del Mar Pines and Torrey Pines High School are working together, Councilwoman Sherri Lightner has become involved, traffic studies are being completed and speed trailers have been set up to alert drivers of the 25-mph speed limit.
Many solutions are being studied, she said, some more simple than others. For example, there is no school sign on the street despite there being two schools on the street and there is also no marked crosswalk.
