Foundation nears fundraising goal
The Rancho Santa Fe School Education Foundation has nearly met their yearly fundraising goal - and it’s only December.
Co-chairs Barbara Edwards and John Cappetta reported that the foundation has brought in $830,000 so far, well on their way to their goal of $850,000.
“We feel pretty good,” Cappetta said.
The foundation raises money to help subsidize the school budget, keep class sizes down and manage what Cappetta called an “army of volunteers.”
With their fundraising efforts looking good, the foundation is now turning their attention to the participation rate of families, which is currently at 61 percent. They are aiming for at least 75 percent, Edwards said.
“Parents are very happy about the school and the foundation, their only complaint is that so few families participate,” Cappetta said.
They have begun reaching out to the non-enrolled community and local businesses as well as parents and for the first time they have invited teachers and staff to participate in the foundation.
