Jersey Mike’s opens in Solana Beach

Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its first store in Solana Beach this week. Jersey Mike’s owners Kevin Kenny, Patrick Kenny and David Kenny opened the location on Wednesday with a fundraising event to support the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito.

From Wednesday through this Sunday, Aug. 1, the store is giving away free regular-size sub sandwiches with a minimum of $1 contribution to the club. A coupon was required for the promotion and more than 10,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community.

“With this fundraiser, we want to support the youth of our community.

The Boys & Girls Clubs offer programs that promote and enhance the development of children by encouraging a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence,” said Kevin Kenny. “In recent years, I have taken part in various triathlons around the country and the Boys & Girls Clubs have been my training hub. I have had the opportunity to meet many great children who rely on these facilities, and I feel an obligation to help out.”

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Sunday. The store is in the Lomas Santa Fe Plaza Shopping Center at 915 Lomas Santa Fe. Call (858) 259-9111.
