On changes at the track:
… With the exception of Labor Day, the time has come for the DMTC to eliminate their Monday race cards. Wednesday through Sunday is enough.
On Fabulously 40 event:
The event was a lot of fun. Meeting Yana was an inspiration, it’s incredible how she changes the lives of women, inspires them and reminds us that forty plus are the best years of our lives. After listening to her speech I embraced my age, called my sister and booked a vacation to celebrate life.
On the Kitchen Shrink
I’m a massage therapy student who is studing sports massage for the horse jockey and this info is extremely useful. Also great to know that there are more alternatives than throwing up and damaging your body to maintain weight.
Also adds consideration for this sport on just how important foods or to this athelete.
Thanks for support in Solana Beach
I am deeply moved by your generosity and outpouring of love for our dear Sonia Silva. I wrote to you two months ago telling the story of Sonia giving birth to her baby daughter Celestie two days before Christmas and losing her fiance, the baby’s father, Gaudencio Quintana, when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver 10 days later on New Year’s morning.
As many of you know, Sonia has worked at Martinizing Dry Cleaning here in Solana Beach (next to Henry’s) for several years and is a good friend to so many of us.
The “Sonia and Celestie Care Fund” was set up in Gaudencio’s memory and to honor Sonia and his beautiful new daughter, Celestie. Donations began coming in immediately. The fund has grown to nearly $4,000.00! It is my delight and my honor to oversee this fund and my hope that it will continue to grow.
Sonia is back at work now and she is overwhelmed by the beneficence of this unselfish and loving community. She says that she really missed her customers and is actually very happy to be back. Some days she brings Celestie with her and this little girl is magnificent!
Thank you so much for your kindness and concern and let’s keep the fund going.
Checks should be made out to the “Sonia and Celestie Care Fund” and may be dropped off at Martinizing Dry Cleaning or mailed directly to Debbie Sandler, 1117 San Patricio Drive, Solana Beach, CA 92075.
