Library Wednesdays keeps focus on kids

The La Jolla Riford Library, 7555 Draper Ave., will offer kid-friendly fun beginning at 4 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 18. Youth services librarian Laurie Bailey said movies, animal activities, crafts and other events are planned.

The summer program “Make A Splash: Read!” runs through Aug. 18 with prizes for the number of books read and logged.

For children under age 5, preschool story times are 10:30 a.m. Thursdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays when guests can show up in their pajamas.

Craft projects for ages 5-12 are offered at 2 p.m. the last Wednesday of each month.
