‘Lincoln’ helps in SDJA read-a-thon

Abraham Lincoln - also known as Legacy donor and friend of San Diego Jewish Academy Joe Oppenheimer - reads to students during the San Diego Jewish Academy’s Sefer Safari week, a month-long read-a-thon.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students enjoyed a variety of reading activities and collectively read over 1,700 books throughout the month of February. For information about SDJA, contact Renee Sherman at

During Sefer Safari, students also participated in a variety of exciting, motivational activities, such as enjoying costumed guest readers and having fifth graders monitor the school’s progress with bar graphs.
