Locks of Love

The Ecotique Aveda Salon in Carmel Valley will host a Locks of Love hair donation drive on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is designed to bring awareness to Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disorder that prevents hair from growing. The disorder affects over five million people in the United States.

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides recipients with a custom vacuum-fitted hairpiece made entirely from donated human hair.

To donate and have your hair cut at the event, hair must be at least 10 inches in length and bundled in a ponytail or braid. Hair must be free of hair damaged by chemical processing (no bleach, no perms). Dyed hair is acceptable as long as it is healthy.
