Middle School Principals take on ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Carmel Valley Middle School Principal Cara Dolnik was recently given the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Adam Camacho, former assistant principal at Carmel Valley Middle School and now principal at Earl Warren Middle School.
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), often called Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It leads to progressive muscle weakness that causes difficulty in speaking, swallowing and breathing, and, ultimately, death.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge involves pouring a bucket of ice water on someone’s head to promote awareness of the disease ALS and encourage donations for research.
