Mild quakes shake area
Two mild earthquakes shook San Diego County within a 90-minute period Thursday afternoon.
The first temblor, measured at magnitude-3.0 and centered about four miles west of Borrego Springs, struck at 1:23 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The second shaker, which measured 3.4 on the Richter scale, hit at 2:45 p.m., the USGS reported. Its epicenter was some six miles north of Julian.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
