Opinion: Vote yes on Prop. C

Last week’s story on Prop C offered an “opposing viewpoint” from Karen Dubey. Your readers should be aware that not so long ago Ms. Dubey penned an opinion editorial in favor of freeing Pacific Highlands Ranch from the SR-56/I-5 Connectors Project. She wrote: “Proposition M must be amended to disconnect Pacific Highlands Ranch future growth from the SR-56/I-5 freeway connector issue in order for the community to be able to move forward.”

So why the change of heart? Dubey and her husband didn’t get their way on the Village Center, and now they’re taking it out on the residents of Pacific Highlands Ranch. Proposition C has no organized opposition, and will cost taxpayers nothing. We, the residents of PHR, need our community park, school and village center to be built. The homeowners should no longer be held captive to Prop M. In the words of Ms. Dubey, “The linking of PHR to the SR-56/ I-5 freeway connectors has backfired on the community of Carmel Valley and caused some of the largest deficiencies in Pacific Highlands Ranch.”

Please vote YES on Prop C!
