Pamplemousse resumes training
The Daily Racing Form reported this week that Pamplemousse, winner of two stakes for 3-year-olds in last winter, will resume jogging this week after recovering from a tendon injury, co-owner Alex Solis II said.
The Pamplemousse was taken out of training in last March, days before an expected start in the Santa Anita Derby when a lesion was found on his tendon, according to the racing publication. Recent tests indicated the 4-year-old could begin exercising again with trainer Julio Canani.
It quoted Solis, the jockey’s owner, as saying said Sunday that “it would be nice to have him ready to race at Del Mar.”
