Pianist Andrew Vu to perform at the Carmel Valley Library

A special free family music program sponsored by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. in its community room. It will feature pianist Andrew Vu playing music by J S Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. The program will last 45 minutes.

Andrew was introduced to piano at a very young age and currently studies with Viktor Shekhtman, a graduate of Odessa State Conservatory. His achievements include first place awards at the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) Carmel Valley Branch competitions and the San Diego Music Bee competition. He also received a scholarship from the MTAC Carmel Valley Branch and has been invited to attend the private master class with Vlada Vassilieva from Duo Petrof.

Andrew enjoys performing piano at school events, libraries, nursing home, and also accompanying a choir at St Therese of Carmel Church. Andrew will be in the seventh grade at Carmel Valley Middle School next year.
