Pop Warner set to kick off

Much to the relief of many pigskin fans, football Saturdays are back. Better than USC and Ohio State, we’re talking Torrey Pines Pop Warner Football. Nineteen Falcon squads will kick off their seasons this Saturday with two divisions fully stacked with four teams apiece this year, the Junior Pee Wees and the youngsters in flag football. Over the weekend, Falcon teams played in their last pre-season action. At Falcon Stadium on Saturday, the Mighty Mite Golden Falcons dismantled the San Marcos Saints in a 27-0 pummeling. Later in the day, the Pee Wee Falcons blanked La Costa Canyon, 14-0. Here’s hoping that kind of dominance continues throughout the season.
