The Del Mar Hills Academy of Arts & Sciences, aka “The Hills,” put fundraising in high gear at its fifth annual dinner and live art auction March 6 at En Fuego Cantina & Grill in Del Mar.

This year’s Fiesta Del Mar Hills’ fundraising goal was not only met, but exceeded.

Each year the PTA gets more and more innovative and this year was like none other. From class art projects to irresistible silent auction items including dinners, vacations, community services and kid-centric activities, the list of items to bid on was astounding. One of the most sought-after items was the Teacher Features, the opportunity for a small group of students to spend time with their teacher at a fun-filled activity. All proceeds from the event benefit the PTA programs and the enrichment curriculum that make the school unique.

Beginning in kindergarten, the Hills delivers the SMART program that integrates science, music, art and technology to enrich and extend each child’s academic experience.
