Red Shoe Ball to benefit Ronald McDonald House
Put on your favorite pair of shoes for the Fourth Annual Red Shoe Ball, which is being held from 6 to 10 p.m. April 25 at the new Ronald McDonald House for San Diego located at 2929 Children’s Way. Net proceeds benefit families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
The gala will honor those who have generously given their time, talents and treasures to help Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego over the past year. Corporations of the Year are Barnhart, Inc. and North Island Credit Union. Philanthropist of the Year is Gary Bryant. Spokesperson of the Year is Mark Grant. Charitable Partner of the Year is the Emilio Nares Foundation. Volunteers of the Year are Glenna Castle, Karen Clark, Maria Pasquale, Verona Pasquale, Eleanor Villandre and Allen Wampach.
The Red Shoe Ball will mark the first official event staged at the new Ronald McDonald House for San Diego. The organization will host a public grand opening on June 13. With 47 bedrooms and quadruple the space of the current house, the new House will serve as a “home away from home” for many more families with seriously ill children at nearby hospitals. The new House is a much-needed resource for the community as the critical need for services for these families grows.
The evening will feature music along with wine and food pairings from the following event sponsors: Chef Arnold Lopez of Viejas Casino, Alfonso’s of La Jolla, Benziger Winery, Meridian Vineyards, Chateau Vaux Sous Targe and Lagunitas Beer. The evening’s entertainment will be supplied by Jr. Crew and Charles Arlington, formerly with the stage play Triple Espresso.
Co-title sponsors for the event are the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and Barona Resort and Casino.
