San Diego Jewish Academy in Carmel Valley selected to participate in elite, intensive program
San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA) has been selected to participate in Sulam 2.0 — an elite, intensive program addressing the unique needs of day school boards launched by RAVSAK: The Jewish Day School Network in partnership with The AVI CHAI Foundation and an anonymous funder.
Sulam 2.0 is the only program of its kind, working with leading day schools to explore the intersection of great governance, great leadership, and great Jewish values. By blending mentorship, ongoing in-person, and digital learning opportunities and conference sessions and workshops Sulam 2.0 will strengthen participants’ knowledge of governance, increase their leadership skills, and integrate Jewish values into all they do.
Each of the schools selected for this dynamic project identified an executive cohort of three board members to receive consistent, high-level support, helping to champion top-level Jewish board governance in their schools. Funded in full by RAVSAK’s dedicated partners, Sulam 2.0 will provide the tools to maintain strong, sustainable day schools for the 21st century.
Sulam 2.0 is one component of RAVSAK’s ongoing mission to strengthen the core of community day schools. By building and sustaining strong Jewish leadership in community day schools, Sulam 2.0 will empower board members to more deeply engage in and advocate for the Jewish life of the schools they lead, while building their network of potential collaborators and experts in the field.
“I am thrilled to partner with our network schools as we work together with their leadership to build stronger institutions of learning who educate and inspire their students while instilling Jewish literacy and contributing to their Jewish identity,” said Rebekah Farber, chair of the RAVSAK board of directors.
“As San Diego’s largest Jewish day school and the only school in San Diego selected for this prestigious program,” said Chaim Heller, SDJA’s Head of School, “we are looking forward to adding even more value for our students and the community.”
