Sockers get their rings

The 2009-10 PASL-Pro North American Champion San Diego Sockers received their championship rings on Saturday in front of a packed crowd at the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery on Saturday.

The 11-time professional indoor soccer champion Sockers, who won the title on March 14, were also present to witness the 1-1 tie between the United States and England in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Championship rings were also given out to team coaches and staff present at the event.

The team’s leading scorer, Kraig Chiles, was given the microphone, where he congratulated his teammates on a victorious season.

The Sockers then went on to defeat San Diego Boca F.C. 13-2 in an exhibition game on Sunday at the Del Mar Arena. The Sockers are scheduled to begin their 2010-11 regular season in November. For more information, go to
