A masked man who pretended to have a concealed gun robbed a North County credit union office today.

The thief approached a teller at the Mission Federal branch in the 900 block of Lomas Santa Fe in Solana Beach about 12:30 p.m., “simulated’’ a

pistol underneath his clothing and demanded cash, sheriff’s Lt. Jim Duffy said.

The bandit fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored jacket, black baseball cap, black

boots and black bandana over the lower part of his face, the lieutenant said.
