Solana Beach resident named director of SurfAid International

SurfAid International, a nonprofit humanitarian organization based in Encinitas, recently welcomed Solana Beach resident Randal Schober as its new executive director.

Schober will head the operations of SurfAid International USA and report directly to the Board of Directors of SurfAid International USA and the Australia based CEO. He will be responsible the management of fundraising, administrative and financial operations for SurfAid USA.

“Randal has the expertise needed to lead SurfAid: motivation, management skills, a high level of personal integrity and a passionate commitment to the alleviation of human suffering,” states Andrew Judge, CEO of SurfAid. “We are excited to have him join us and look forward to his contributions.”

SurfAid’s mission is to improve the health, well-being and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing.

Prior to joining SurfAid, Schober worked as executive director at HeadNorth in San Diego.

He is currently an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University teaching nonprofit management in the MBA program.

Schober received his undergraduate degree in physical education from the University of South Australia, a master’s degree in human development and a doctorate in exercise physiology from West Virginia University.
