Busby recognized at final Solana Beach School Board meeting

After nearly a decade of service to the Solana Beach School District, Jeff Busby is retiring from the Board of Education. Busby’s fellow board members presented him with a certificate of recognition during his last board meeting Nov. 13.

“Thank you for your service to the students and the community of Solana Beach,” said Superintendent Nancy Lynch. “I have appreciated your leadership, your calm focus, creative ideas and wisdom. You’ll be missed.”

After serving nine years on the board, Busby opted not to run for re-election. Newcomer Holly Lewry will be taking his seat in December.

Joined by his wife and one of his daughters, Busby thanked his fellow board members and the school district community.

“It’s been nine very good years,” Busby said. “I’ve valued working with all of you and all the staff over the years. It’s a truly special district.”
