In an attempt to catch the attention of top recruiters, several local athletes turned to a Solana Beach-based company for help with showcasing their talent.

SportsForce Online, founded by former college and professional athletes, provides aspiring collegiate athletes with the professional recruiting, training and video services to help them be selected by top universities and colleges around the country.

“I learned about [the company] from a man named Ryan Ainge who was helping me train and look for colleges,” La Jolla High School football player Robbie Beathard said. “So I got some highlight clips together and took them over. Within days Andrew [Beinbrink, CEO and co-founder of SportsForce] had a great highlight tape full of my clips, academic info and a profile ready.”

Beathard plays safety and running back for LJHS and was recently selected to the South San Diego High School Alex Spanos Football All Star Team, adding to his list of accomplishments. He will be playing for the University of San Diego Toreros starting this season.

“As a former high school, college and professional baseball player, I have personally experienced the difficulties high school athletes face as they struggle to develop their skills as well as understand the college preparation and recruiting process,” Beinbrink said.

Beinbrink was a standout baseball player in college at Arizona State and also played professionally for the minor league teams of the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Of the company’s five other co-founders all were standout college athletes and three of them played professional baseball.

The total cost of SportsForce’s services range between $200 and $400. The company’s success rate in terms of securing a college roster spot for student-athletes is greater than 80 percent, according to Beinbrink.

“For the last two years we have provided event video services and an advanced sports recruiting profile video service for aspiring student-athletes who are focused on playing sports in college,” he said.

Currently, the company has served more than 600 clients, 20 college sports programs and four MLB baseball teams, including the Boston Red Sox, helping athletes and schools come to a preliminary agreement of service, which is similar to a college letter of intent from a student-athlete.

Other local area athletes who have sought services from SportsForce include Cathedral Catholic senior and standout water polo player Tyler Zender who will be attending Loyola Marymount University this year, Torrey Pines High School senior and baseball star JJ Reading who will attend Point Loma Nazarene, La Jolla High School senior and football standout Ethan Swerdlow who will go to Lafayette, and Cathedral Catholic senior and football player Brandon Van Deventer.

“I truly think that the tapes he put together for me really helped me get interest from college football teams,” Beathard said.
