Students ‘Wow’ with artwork

The Carmel Del Mar Parent Teachers Association hosted their Reflections art show on Oct. 28, showing off young artists’ interpretations of the theme “Wow.” Nineteen students’ works were selected to move on to the next level of Reflections, a statewide PTA program.

Students that were selected to move on received a trophy for their artwork that included paintings, drawings, photography, music composition and literature.

Those moving on included two sibling sets: Martin and Edith Kamme for their photography and Sara and Lisa Nakamura for their drawings.

Second grader Eamon Aalipour was selected to read his literature entry to the audience, dressed snappy in a suit and dwarfed by the podium. His very descriptive essay about the amazing things he saw during the summer Olympics was selected to move on to the next level.
