Summa Education opens new office in Carmel Valley
Summa Education’s founder Chris Hamilton has worked with literally thousands of students over the past two decades, helping them reach their academic goals and dreams. In some years his students account for nearly 25 percent of the perfect “2400” scores in California, and he has helped hundreds of students gain admission to top-tier universities and colleges.
“We are excited about our new office in Carmel Valley,” Hamilton acknowledges. “I think we have created the perfect environment for our students — lots of light and space in which to learn and create.”
Instead of resorting to short-term tricks and gimmicks, Summa Education’s SAT courses are skills-based.
“We teach students actual skills — how to think, reason, and write,” Hamilton explains. “That’s why we need a very special faculty. Our students are taught by experienced university instructors or chairs of high school departments, rather than college kids home for break.”
Students at Summa tend to be high-achievers willing to put in a little work over the summer. “But we work with students of all levels, as long as they are motivated to improve,” Hamilton adds.
It is their holistic approach to learning that makes Summa unique. “We don’t sign up students sight unseen over the internet or the phone. Instead, we meet with each student to create an individualized plan that encompasses college goals, financial planning, academic progress, and testing strategies. Too many students and parents focus on numbers like scores and grades, ignoring the key elements that are important to top colleges. Good students need good scores, but they also need more. We help students find their purpose and voice so they can tell a great story.”
Summa Education’s new Carmel Valley office is located at 11250 El Camino Real, Suite #105, San Diego, 92130. They also offer classes in the 4S Ranch/Rancho Bernardo area at 9050 Maranatha Drive. Phone: 858-793-8880; Website: www.summaeducation.com.
