The boys are back! Doo wah!

There will be a whole lotta shakin’ going on when La Jolla’s Jocko Marcellino and his Sha Na Na buddies join the 76-piece San Diego Symphony for a Pops concert 7:30 p.m. July 29 at Embarcadero Marina Park South.

It’s a special 40th Anniversary celebration for the rock ‘n’ roll band. Highlights will include audience participation in a sing-along, and dancing the Hand Jive, The Stroll, and The Twist.

Patrons will hear full orchestral charts of classic doo wop hits of the ‘50s and ‘60s, including “Blue Moon,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “Get a Job,” “Rhythm of the Rain,” “Love Potion No. 9,” “Sandy,” and “Goodnight Sweetheart,” among many others.
