Torrey Pines High School girls place in classic

The Torrey Pines girls basketball team took second place in this year’s Spring Classic Tournament, held on May 22 and 23 at West Hills High School. With 10 top local high schools competing, Torrey Pines defeated Our Lady of Peace, Escondido, West Hills and Westview to finish undefeated at 4-0 in its pool. In the championship game, it faced local powerhouse Bishop’s, which had won its pool with a matching 4-0 record. Although Bishop’s prevailed, it was a very close game.
