Tournament raises $125,000

The Lucky Duck Foundation hosted the San Diego Swing & Soiree on Sept. 21 at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. More than 100 golfers and 200 party attendees contributed to raising $125,000 for the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund and Father Joe’s Villages.

The Soiree portion of the event featured an upscale boutique-shopping event.

According to Lucky Duck Foundation CFO, Pat Kilkenny, “We are thrilled to have raised these funds for two excellent causes - especially considering the economy. The attendees really stepped up.”

The 2010 Swing & Soiree will be held in September. Tickets can soon be purchased online at www.LuckyDuckFoundation.org.

Lynn Frohnmayer, co-founder of the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, thanked the crowd and provided an update on the disease. Lynn’s husband, David, is the former president of the University of Oregon. Together they formed the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund as their three daughters suffered from Fanconi anemia. Two of the girls died due to comoplications of the disease when they were 12 and 24.

Lucky Duck Foundation leadership, Pat and Stephanie Kilkenny, personally matched the donations raised by this event.
