Two forms of football taught

Football, American and how the rest of the world knows it, was played at Horizon Prep’s summer camps last week. Campers were given a professional’s perspective on the games. English Premier League player Warren Barton coached soccer on the pitch and former NFL wide receiver Mikhael Ricks taught football on the field.

Barton, a former defensive player for Wimbeldon and Newcastle United, currently works as an analyst on the Fox Soccer Channel. Children sprinted and scurried with the soccer ball as Barton chirped “Go!” and “Play!”

Ricks, a former NFL wide receiver and tight end for the San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, currently works as a trainer for Velocity Sports. At 6-foot 5-inches, Ricks towered over the children.
