Volunteers can become park ‘naturalists’

Share

July is County Parks and Recreation month. To celebrate and learn more about the region’s unique outdoors, download a temporary passport at

www.co.san-diego.ca.us/parks/passport.html

or pick up one at any of the 12 participating parks.

To get started earning stamps, check the program guide for trail hikes, bat hikes, fishing with a ranger, or other fun activities at participating parks. After each activity, collect a passport stamp.

Collect six stamps from six different programs and receive a vehicle sticker and San Diego County Naturalist Certificate of Completion.

For weekly schedules on activities and fees for children’s summer day camps, go to www.sdparks.org and click on the Community, Recreation and Teen Centers link and select among three recreation centers.
