Cathedral Catholic High experienced just one loss in during a period of more than two months to start the season.
They tripled that total within the span of three days.
The Dons, who won 23 of their first 24 games on their way to becoming one of the most highly regarded teams in San Diego County, had their 12-game winning streak snapped when they experienced a 63-58 Western League loss to Mission Bay on Feb. 7.
They lost again to Lincoln 72-68 in a league game three days later.
The Dons had defeated both teams by combined 25 points in the first round of league (they defeated Mission Bay 64-56 and Lincoln 81-64 in previous meetings on Jan. 10 and Jan. 20).
The losses dropped the Dons to 9-2 in league and 23-3 overall for the season, and knocked them out of sole possession of first place, a half game behind Lincoln (9-1).
Xavier Williams scored 13 points to lead the Dons and Nick Prunty added 11 points in the Mission Bay game.
Brendan Reh scored 19 points to lead the Dons in the Lincoln game and Prunty added 15 points.
Torrey Pines extended its winning streak to four games and won for the sixth time in seven games as the Falcons defeated Mt. Carmel 74-55 in a Palomar League game on Feb. 10.
The win followed a 63-50 league victory over Poway on Feb. 7.
Joe Rahon scored 24 points and had nine rebounds and Garrett Galvin added 22 points and four steals.
Rahon scored 33 points and had 13 rebounds and Galvin and Sam Worman each added 11 points to lead the Falcons in the Poway game.
The Falcons improved to 6-2 in league and 16-10 overall for the season.
Santa Fe Christian had its three game winning streak snapped as the Eagles lost to Army-Navy 49-37 in a Coastal League game on Feb. 10.
The loss followed a 67-63 league victory over La Jolla Country Day on Feb. 8 that was the Eagles fourth win in five games.
Justin Byrd scored 12 points to lead the Eagles and Grant Corsi added 12 points.
Byrd scored 21 points to lead the Eagles in the LJCD game and Cole Needham added 14 points.
The Eagles fell to 3-5 in league and 15-9 overall for the season.
San Diego Jewish Academy defeated Escondido Charter 45-44 in a Pacific League game on Feb. 8.
The victory kept the Lions locked in a two-way tie for first place with Tri-City Christian.
Jacob Katz scored 15 points to lead the Lions and Ryan Marchetti added 11 points.
Katz also had six rebounds and three steals.
The Lions improved to 5-1 in league and 10-9 overall for the season.
Canyon Crest Academy extended its winning streak to seven games as the Ravens maintained sole possession of first place in the Valley League.
The Ravens defeated Del Norte 60-35 in a league game on Feb. 10. The victory followed a 69-33 thrashing of Mission Vista two days earlier.
Dylan Osetkowski scored 17 points and Riley Adams added 12 points to lead the Ravens in the Del Norte game.
Akira Tachiwana added 11 points and Scott Patterson contributed seven points and 13 assists.
Osetkowski scored 16 points to lead the Ravens in the Mission Vista game and Alex Buchanan added 15 points.
The Ravens improved to 7-1 in league and 13-12 overall for the season.
Canyon Crest Academy extended its winning streak to four games as the Ravens remained within striking distance of first place in the Valley League going into the last week of the regular season.
The Ravens defeated Mission Vista 50-11 and Del Norte 33-32 in league games on Feb. 8 and Feb. 10.
Julia Brew and Nicolee Quarshy each scored 10 points to lead the Ravens in the Mission Vista game, and Ali Brown added points.
Brew scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the Ravens in the Del Norte game.
The Ravens trailed most of the way in the Del Norte game, but stepped up their defense in a decisive fourth quarter, when they outscored their opponent 9-3.
The Ravens improved to 5-2 in league and 13-10 overall for the season. They trailed first place Valley Center (7-1) by one and a half games going into the last week.
Santa Fe Christian continued its domination of Coastal League North play with two decisive victories.
The Eagles trounced San Diego Jewish Academy 83-12 on Feb. 9, a day after a resounding 48-9 win against Pacific Ridge.
Megan Franke scored 15 points to lead the Eagles in the SDJA game and Maile Burtech added 14. Bekah Askew and Jessi Moore each added 12 points.
Makenna White led the Eagles with 11 points and Franke added 10 points in the Pacific Ridge game.
The Eagles improved to 8-0 in league and 12-10 overall for the season.
Torrey Pines defeated Mt. Carmel 2-1 in a Palomar League soccer game on Feb. 9. The Falcons defeated Poway 3-0 in a league game two days earlier.
Camelia Tirandazi and Courtney each scored one goal to lead the Falcons in the Mt. Carmel game.
Massimino scored two goals and Alyson Carter scored one goal to lead the Falcons in the Poway game.
The Falcons improved to 5-3 in league and 13-3-1 overall for the season.
