Baseball:
Santa Fe Christian swept a two-game Coastal League South series from Bishop’s.
The Eagles won the first game 2-0 on May 1 and the second game 7-3 the next day.
Dillon Paulson pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Eagles in the first game. Paulson struck out eight batters and allowed two walks.
The victory was SFC’s third straight.
Chase Bushor had three hits including a double to lead the Eagles offensively.
Paulson and Gary Saggese each added two hits.
Tyler Ledbetter had three hits including a double and a triple to lead the Eagles in the second game.
Will Finnerty and John Gamble each added two hits.
Gamble, who was credited with the win, started and pitched 4 2/3 innings of three-hit ball for the win. He allowed three runs (two earned).
Matt Carlson pitched 2 ½ innings of scoreless relief.
The Eagles improved to 4-4 in league and 12-12 overall for the season. After a 1-3 start in league, they moved into sole possession of third place.
Torrey Pines defeated Poway 11-6 in a Palomar League game on May 2 to split a two-game series with the Titans.
The Falcons lost to Poway 12-11 in the first game two days earlier.
John Remick had two hits including a home run, scored three runs and drove in three more to lead the Falcons to the victory in the second game.
Henry Grow had two hits including a double and three RBI.
Chard Thurston had two hits and Jackson Gentes and Jake Cline each contributed a double and two RBI.
Cline had two doubles and three RBI and Thurston had three hits in defeat for Torrey Pines in the first game.
The Falcons improved to 5-6 in league and 10-16 overall for the season.
Cathedral Catholic lost to Patrick Henry 7-2 in an Eastern League game on April 30.
The loss followed a 12-3 win against Mater Dei three days earlier.
The Dons fell to 5-3 in league and 17-7 overall for the season.
Connor Larkin had two hits and Drew Finley had one hit and two RBI in defeat for the Dons in the Patrick Henry game.
Giovanni Garbella homered and drove in three runs to lead the Dons in the Mater Dei game.
Hayden Grant, Nick Prunty and Brady Aiken each contributed two hits.

Canyon Crest Academy split a two-game Palomar League series with Mt. Carmel in which the Ravens got outstanding pitching.
The Ravens won the first game 3-1 on April 30 but lost the second game 1-0.
Jack Kaloogian pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Ravens in the first game. Kaloogian struck out eight batters and allowed no walks.
Sameer Jafri led the Ravens offensively with two hits including a double and one RBI.
Dylan Gargas was a tough-luck loser in the second game. Gargas pitched a one-hit shutout in which the only run charged to him was unearned.
Gargas struck out six batters and allowed no walks.
Jafri had two hits to lead the Ravens offensively.
The Ravens improved to 5-6 in league and 10-15 overall for the season.
Softball:
Torrey Pines defeated Mt. Carmel 1-0 in a Palomar League game on May 3. The win followed a 3-0 victory over Westview two days earlier.
Rachel Nasland pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the Falcons in the Westview game.
Nasland struck out 13 batters and allowed one walk.
Julia Yacker had two hits including a home run to lead the Falcons offensively. Emma Wong also had two hits for Torrey Pines.

The Falcons improved to 5-3 in league and 15-8-2 overall for the season.

Camille Doan scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Falcons and Kacey McKinnon and Lauren Hargis each contributed two goals and one assist.
Montserrat Quintana scored one goal and had two assists and Alex Rasmussen added two goals.
The Falcons improved to 10-9 in league and 4-2 overall for the season.

The loss followed a 15-7 defeat at the hands of Westview two days earlier.
Katie Carlson had three goals in defeat for the Ravens in the Westview game and Alexa Carter added two goals.
Carter led the Ravens with four goals in the Poway game and Carlson contributed two goals and one assist.
The Ravens fell to 3-3 in league and 11-6 overall for the season.
Tennis:
Torrey Pines’ Charlie Pei took third place and teammate Max Liu placed fifth in the three-day Palomar League individuals tournament, which concluded on May 2.
