Weinberg leaving Del Mar school district
The Del Mar Union School District’s Director of Pupil Services Sheila Weinberg is leaving the district on Aug. 1.Weinberg recently accepted a position as the director of the South County SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area).
District superintendent James Peabody said SELPA directorships rarely become available.
“She’s very talented and they’re really lucky to get her,” Peabody said.
The district posted the director of pupil services position this week, with an application closing date of Aug. 16. The district is still collecting applications for the assistant superintendent of business services position vacated by Dena Whittington. The application deadline for that position closes on Aug. 2.
Peabody said it is his hope that both the director of pupil services and assistant superintendent of business services posts will be filled by the time school starts on Aug. 30.
