The North Shore 10U maroon girls softball all star squad played a great tournament over Memorial Day weekend, which ended with a 2nd place trophy. The team finished off its pool games with an unblemished 3-0 record earning them a #2 seed going into the brackets.

First up was a scrappy Rancho Bernardo team that battled hard. North Shore started slowly but finished strong with a 9-1 victory. Next up was South Huntington Beach. North Shore pinned them to the mat early and never let up, cruising to a 13-0 final score. A rematch with their East County pool opponent was next. Just like the pool game, this was a hard-fought match with North Shore prevailing 6-4. The victory secured a berth in the championship against another East County team. A back and forth affair saw North Shore coming up just short losing 4-6. All in all it was a spectacular weekend with the team posting a 6-1 record. The North Shore Maroon 10U unit excelled in all phases of the game with great defense, solid pitching, timely hitting, and smart base running.
