Football:

Cathedral Catholic jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as the unbeaten Dons defeated Liberty of Bakersfield 49-7 in a nonleague game on Sept. 23. The Dons opened the game with four unanswered touchdowns.Adam Eastwood rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Dons.Quarterback Tate Haynes completed 6 of 8 pass attempts for 106 yards and one touchdown.Shawn Poma rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown and Jordan Genmark-Heath caught one scoring pass for 42 yards. Alec Simas had 11 tackles and Matt Stuppiello and Chris Calhoun each had 10 tackles to lead the Dons defensively. The Dons improved to 5-0 overall for the season.

Santa Fe Christian defeated Bishop Diego 20-0 in a nonleague game on Sept. 24. Eagles quarterback Conner Whitton completed 9 of 16 pass attempts for 170 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.Caleb Phillips caught two passes for 68 yards and one touchdown and Matthew McRoskey caught four passes for 45 yards and one touchdown. Phillips led the Eagles defensively with 16 tackles and Joey Zaso and Kevin Loney each had 10 tackles. Bennett Baptista had two sacks.The Eagles improved to 3-1 overall for the season.

San Diego Jewish Academy defeated Warner of Warner Springs 62-6 in a nonleague game on Sept. 23. Jordan Battaglia completed 3 of 6 pass attempts for 59 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 53 yards on two carries.Sebastian Mayer rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on four carries. Joseph had nine tackles and four sacks to lead the Lions defensively. Isaac Rosen added nine tackles and Cody Brown and Moises Kanarek each had one interception. The Lions improved to 3-0 overall for the season.

Volleyball:

Torrey Pines defeated Mission Vista 3-0 () in a nonleague match on Sept. 22. Alexis Filippone had nine kills and Jaden Whitmarsh and Emily Fitzner each added six kills.Brynn Chandler had 17 assists and Kiara McNulty added 12 assists.

The victory followed a 3-0 nonleague win against Ramona two days earlier in which Filippone had 11 kills and Whitmarsh had 10 kills. McNulty had 24 assists and Chandler had 10 assists.The Falcons improved to 9-2 overall for the season.

La Costa Canyon defeated Francis Parker 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-18) in a nonleague match on Sept. 23.Sophia Tulino had seven kills to lead the Mavericks and Kiki Feldman had five kills.Mavericks setter Camryn Machado had 21 assists.The victory followed a 2-1 nonleague victory over Del Norte on Sept. 20 in which Bronte Zlomek had 15 kills.Machado had 36 assists and Morgan Lewis and Katie Lougeay each added nine kills. The Mavericks improved to 7-4 overall for the season.

Santa Fe Christian defeated West Hills 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17) in a nonleague game on Sept. 21.Emily Hubbard had 15 kills and Lexi Sun had 14 kills to lead the Eagles.Eagles setter Nicolina Duhs had 34 assists. The Eagles improved to 11-1 overall for the season.

Canyon Crest Academy defeated Carlsbad 3-0 (25-14, 29-27, 27-25) in an Avocado League West match on Sept. 22.Hannah Martin had 16 kills and 14 digs to lead the Ravens and setter Olivia Lovenberg had 46 assists.The Ravens improved to 2-0 in league and 4-1 overall for the season.

Field hockey:

Canyon Crest Academy lost to Poway 1-0 in a nonleague game on Sept. 20.Ravens goalie Miranda Siperstein-Rafner had five saves.The Ravens fell to 3-3 overall for the season.

La Costa Canyon lost to Scripps Ranch 2-0 in a nonleague game on Sept. 21. Mavericks goalie had eight saves.The Mavericks fell to 7-2 overall for the season.

Golf:

Cathedral Catholic defeated La Jolla 209-261 in a Western League match at La Jolla Country Club on Sept. 21.Madisen Miller and Allison Quach each shot a 4-over-par 40 to lead the Dons.

Torrey Pines defeated San Dieguito Academy 233-296 in a nonleague match at La Costa Champions Club on Sept. 19. Carolyn Zhao and Dani Rodea each shot an even-par 37 to lead the Falcons.

Water polo:

La Costa Canyon defeated Scripps Ranch 10-9 in a nonleague game on Sept. 23.Hayden Reider scored six goals to lead the Mavericks.
